CAFÉ OLÉ
Visual/object-theater and contemporary flamenco
Café Olé is a visual-choreographic portrait of feminine emotional states, and centers on the daily ‘dance’ of trying to ‘keep it all together’: career, motherhood, joy, depression, the relationship with the body, the endless exhaustion, and the place of friendship and art within this chaos.
A choreographic cycle of mundane ‘drinking ceremonies’, consisting of duets and solos by Inbal Yomtovian and Adva Yer - artists, mothers, friends and colleagues, searching for their voice and movement within the hectic routine of everyday life.
The show is a dialogue between visual/object-theater and contemporary flamenco dance through a poetic use of objects and soundscapes that compose art and life. Dramaturgically, the piece is framed as a day: from the endless chain of cups of coffee in the morning, a water break during sportive activity, through an afternoon coffee and cigarette, the evening glass of wine, and a desperate drink in the lonely night that brings the two women to the next morning.
